At least 60 Palestinians were killed in Gaza on Friday, of which 31 were shot by Israeli forces near the aid distribution centers controlled by Israel, according to the civil defense in the Hamas-controlled area.

Israel's military admits in a statement that they shot "warning shots" at "suspects" who approached.

When these continued to approach "an aircraft struck and eliminated the suspects to remove the threat", the military says in a comment.

The aid activity is run by the heavily criticized Israel- and US-supported group GHF. In recent weeks, a large number of Palestinians have been shot dead and even more have been injured at or near the organization's distribution sites in the Gaza Strip. Witnesses on site have on several occasions pointed out the Israeli military as responsible for the shooting. The military has in several cases, like on Friday, admitted to shooting "warning shots" at people but also denied being behind the extensive killing.
