It was a physical Allsvenskan premiere when Malmö FF visited Djurgården at the 3 arena. On several occasions, the players clashed, and the injuries poured in.
Something that Djurgården midfielder Daniel Stensson did not appreciate, and told about a specific incident in the first half.
We want tempo in the game and they can calm it down with "Ponnes" (Pontus Jansson's) little fake injury, he said to Max at halftime.
"Talks too much"
Afterwards, the experienced Malmö defender responded to the statement.
He talks too much, for God's sake. I don't talk about such mediocre players, so it's calm, says Jansson after the match and continues:
If I really should say what happened, I have a varicose vein on my right leg that many have probably seen in pictures. And when I get hit on it sometimes, it feels like my whole leg is numb. If he now needs to know, he has the answer.
But Stensson did not want to give in. After the match, he stuck to his version that Jansson faked his injury.
"Had a great career"
Of course, he played on. They wanted to slow down the tempo. But I've also done that, so it's nothing against him, he says.
When the 28-year-old heard about Jansson's statement, he was however much more composed than at halftime.
Let it stand for him. If he thinks so, it's his opinion, and everyone has the right to an opinion. He has had a great career and is not directly mediocre.
Malmö won the Allsvenskan premiere with 1–0, after the defender Jens Stryger Larsen scored the only goal of the match in the first half.
