Djurgården, AIK and Hammarby call for open register of football agents

Djurgården, AIK and Hammarby are calling on the Swedish Football Association to create an open register of agents. The Stockholm clubs say so in a joint statement.

“Swedish football has shortcomings in oversight and transparency in the domestic agent market,” the clubs write in a statement signed by Djurgården chairman Erik Gozzi, AIK chairman Mikael Jomer and Hammarby chairman Mattias Fri.

The clubs want it to be clear which players are represented by which agents.

“The detailed design of the register and what information can be made public need to be assessed in relation to current legislation,” the clubs write.

The Stockholm clubs also write that Swedish football should not wait to see how international football handles various issues relating to agents.
