Djokovic had trouble finding his rhythm and 26-year-old de Minaur easily took the first set with a clear 6–1.
But the Serbian world star did not give up, instead finding his way back and turning the match around.
Djokovic took three sets in a row and secured a place in the quarterfinals after a total of 1–6, 6–4, 6–4, 6–4.
