When the mother called the police about her son's disappearance, her 12-year-old daughter had to act as an interpreter. Now the DO is suing the police for discrimination.

It was in the summer of 2023 that a boy and a friend disappeared and were later found murdered in the Stockholm area.

When the 14-year-old's mother contacted the police, her concerns were not taken seriously and her daughter even had to interpret the conversation.

The Discrimination Ombudsman (DO) is now suing the police, demanding a total of SEK 300,000 in damages, reports P4 Jönköping.

"It is a very serious incident. We believe that both the mother and daughter have been subjected to discrimination," said DO Lars Arrhenius.

Regional Police Chief Malena Grann said in a comment that the police have made a different assessment.

Several men from the Foxtrot network have been given long prison sentences for their involvement in the murders.
