The company's value is estimated at around $48.7 billion (approximately SEK 460 billion), according to a press release.
Kimberly-Clark is paying with both shares and cash. In practice, the aim is to merge the companies, with Kimberly-Clark owners receiving 54 percent of the shares while Kenvue owners receive 46 percent.
Kimberly-Clark, with brands such as Kleenex and Huggies, is down 8 percent in futures trading on Wall Street since the deal was announced. Kenvue shares are up 18 percent at the same time.
In addition to the painkiller Tylenol – which US President Donald Trump claims can cause autism in the fetus if taken by pregnant women – Kenvue includes the lotion brand Neutrogena, the mouthwash brand Listerine and the plaster brand Band-Aid.
