Like other parliamentary parties, the Sweden Democrats have built up their own aid organization, financed with money from Sida. So far, Hepatica - of which Björn Söder is chairman - has received just over 14 million kronor.
However, the organization is considered not to meet the requirements of the agreement with Sida. It lacks the ability to track how money has been used and to follow up on projects implemented by partners, writes Dagens Nyheter.
Despite Sida assessing the risk level as "extreme", the authority has reportedly given the green light for a new payment of just over SEK 23 million this year - a decision that two Sida administrators are said to have registered reservations against.
