The first Swedish point came in the eighth minute of the second period when John Klingberg gave San Jose a 2–1 lead with a shot from the right wing.
"When I got the puck, I saw that I had a lot of net to shoot over (the goalie's) shoulder," the 33-year-old said after the game, according to nhl.com .
A few minutes later it was time for the Swedes to perform again. Alexander Wennberg scored 3–1 after assists from both William Eklund and Klingberg.
With less than a minute and a half left in the game, Wennberg then played Canadian Macklin Celebrini forward, who in his hundredth NHL game scored San Jose's fourth goal with a wrist shot.
After the match, the winning team's goalkeeper Alex Nedeljkovic was praised for making a total of 28 saves.
"He made some huge saves. I liked his third period. He was outstanding tonight," coach Ryan Warsofsky said, according to nhl.com.
