Two Swedish citizens were arrested yesterday on suspicion of weapons possession on the island of Amager in Copenhagen, according to the Danish police on X.
According to Ritzau, it concerns a 19-year-old man and a 31-year-old man.
A so-called grundlovsforhør, equivalent to a Swedish detention hearing, will be held during the morning in the Copenhagen city court (equivalent to a district court), where a judge will decide on possible detention of the men.
The Copenhagen police tell TT that more Swedish citizens have been arrested and detained in recent times. In total, it concerns four Swedish teenagers.
Recently, we have seen some serious cases regarding weapons possession and attempted murder. Our investigations have resulted in Swedish teenagers being arrested, says Knud Hvass, vice police inspector at the Copenhagen police.
These are things we take very seriously.
Since the detention hearings have been held behind closed doors, the Copenhagen police do not want to comment further on the cases.
Our understanding is, however, that the cases have a connection to closed environments within organized crime, which we have a broad and ongoing effort against, says Hvass.
