A Danish doctor is suspected of thousands of journal intrusions. In patient records, he found full names, personal identification numbers, and addresses, and in at least a few cases, he subsequently contacted patients and asked if they wanted to go on a date.
Danish TV2 Kosmopol has spoken to two women who were contacted by the doctor in this way. Both declined the date and later discovered that the doctor had accessed their records, despite not being involved in their care.
Two affected regions have reported the doctor to the police. The intrusions, which have been ongoing for several years, should have been revealed much earlier, admits staff at Region Hovedstaden in an email to the news agency Ritzau.
