On Friday, the government's decision on the referral of the public service proposal for 2026-2033 is expected, a proposal that involves cuts.

A "deeply irresponsible" proposal given the serious security policy situation, according to S Chairman Magdalena Andersson and the party's cultural policy spokesperson Lawen Redar.

In order to meet an increasingly complex threat picture in the form of various types of hybrid attacks and influence operations, SVT, SR, and UR have a "special position in total defense" through broad reach and high confidence among the population, they write.

Referring to the fact that heavy remitters, like them, believe that the proposal risks weakening public service from a preparedness perspective, they accuse the government and SD of letting their "ideologically driven slimming agenda take precedence over strengthening public service's work for Swedish preparedness".

"In light of the deteriorated security policy situation and the remitters' serious criticism, we social democrats call for cross-block talks on public service's term 2026-2033".
