The channel, which is owned by Handelsbanken, has grown at a record pace in recent years and recruited several well-known journalist names, such as Anna Hedenmo and Fredrik Strage. This summer, Anders Hägerstrand left Dagens Industri to become editor-in-chief of the channel.
But now savings are expected, reports the trade magazine Journalisten . However, EFN's editor-in-chief believes that cuts are the wrong word.
"As editor-in-chief, I have decided how EFN should best develop and how we should achieve our goals. Based on this, the production company LW Production has assessed that there will be a shortage of work and has notified around 20 employees that they will be affected," Hägerstrand tells Journalisten.
Furthermore, Hägerstrand says that the channel should have a clearer focus on economics, the stock market, macro and science, and local reporters out in the country.
