The combined efforts of Sweden's governments during the 25 years that Dawit Isaak has been imprisoned have not been sufficient, a number of cultural leaders write in an appeal in Svenska Dagbladet, on the day 25 years since Isaak was imprisoned.
Spokespersons for Reporters Without Borders, Amnesty, the Publicist Club, Swedish PEN and Newspaper Publishers, among others, are also included.
A majority of the parties said before the election that they want to increase Sweden's efforts for Dawit Isaak's release. Now it is up to the incoming government to prove it, according to the appeal.
