The investigation has a number of proposals on how the 100 works should be spread. The main proposal is that a foundation should be established, which will drive a "multidimensional digital portal", reports Magasin K.
According to the investigation's proposal, the foundation will receive a basic capital of 150 million - which will be taken from the General Inheritance Fund. As a consequence, it is stated that the fund in the future will have fewer resources to "grant support to non-profit organizations' projects".
Furthermore, it is proposed that 60 million should be earmarked in the culture budget, with 20 million each year between 2026-2028 for county museums and other regional cultural heritage actors to spread the canon.
The committee also believes that the cultural canon should be spread in a "people's edition" of 5,000 books, at a cost of 500,000 kronor, and that a temporary website should convey knowledge about the canon until the foundation is in place, with a price tag of two million over a three-year period. The money is proposed to be taken from the culture budget. Another of the proposals is that a permanent canon exhibition should be produced and displayed at the Nordic Museum.
The production of the cultural canon cost taxpayers 8 million kronor for 2024-2025.
