US President Donald Trump again threatened Iran this weekend with widespread destruction and urged the country to "speed up."
When crude oil futures trading opened after the weekend, a few hours after Trump's call, prices gradually began to rise.
About five hours into trading, the June price of WTI had risen by about 2.2 percent, while North Sea oil had risen by 1.9 percent. Prices on Monday morning were therefore at $107.8 and $111.3 per barrel, respectively, according to CNBC.
