In the latest release of documents from the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein, Mette-Marit is mentioned on numerous occasions.
In the fall of 2012, the Crown Princess asked Jeffrey Epstein, then a convicted sex offender, if it was "inappropriate" to suggest a picture of naked women to her 15-year-old son. According to Aftenposten, among others, Marius Borg Høiby, who is now accused of rape, was 15 at the time.
VG reports that Mette-Marit also responded that "Paris is good for infidelity" when Epstein wrote that he had been looking for a wife and preferred Scandinavian women.
Earlier this week, it emerged that Mette-Marit had borrowed a home in Florida from Epstein for four days.
The Norwegian court has previously confirmed that Mette-Marit met Epstein on several occasions during the period 2011–2013, and that they were introduced to each other through mutual acquaintances.
"I showed poor judgment and regret that I had any contact with Epstein at all. It is simply embarrassing," the Crown Princess stated, among other things, in a comment to NRK on Saturday.
