The European Commission wants to link Europe's electricity markets. The proposal includes that 25 percent of the countries' bottleneck revenues should go to a common pot, reports SR Ekot.
According to Ekot, this could mean that Sweden would be responsible for two-thirds of the joint projects.
"It's a bad proposal. You can't take Swedish citizens' money and use it to expand networks in other EU countries," Energy Minister Ebba Busch told Ekot.
Sweden's economic policy spokesman Mikael Damberg said the proposal cannot be implemented.
"It would be like introducing a tax on Swedish households that would go to other countries," he told TT and continued:
"That is completely wrong and it cannot happen."
