During the night, the cows have been seen on roads in the surrounding area and the Swedish Transport Administration has issued warnings for the animals.
What must have happened is that they got extremely scared. Then it doesn't matter what kind of fence it is, they just run, says the owner Henrik Pettersson to Norran.
Pettersson says that he has caught the cows that were near the enclosure, but the tracks of the missing dozen disappear 1.5 miles from the farm.
He suspects that those who are still on the run are staying together somewhere in the forest and asks the public to contact him if they see any black and white cows in the area.
