The man had previously been sentenced to 15 years in prison in the district court, but had appealed with reference to the fact that he had acted under threat and fired the weapon by mistake.

However, the court of appeal makes the same assessment as the district court. The man will also be deported for life.

"Considering the circumstances, it is extremely fortunate that no one was injured that night," says Susanne Hård, court of appeal judge and chairman of the court, in a press release.

A 23-year-old woman who was convicted of aiding and abetting attempted murder is acquitted, since it does not appear from the evidence that she was aware of the murder plan when she booked travel and accommodation for the shooter. Nevertheless, she receives five years in prison for, among other things, serious narcotics offenses, which she has admitted to.

The man who transported the weapons to Sundsvall has his prison sentence of 4.5 years confirmed. One of the two minors who were sentenced to closed youth care for aiding and abetting attempted murder has his sentence mitigated somewhat due to the fact that he was less involved than the other.
