The stop in train traffic between Sundsvall and Umeå is taking longer. At the earliest on Monday at 12 o'clock, they expect the trains to be able to start rolling again, instead of on Sunday as was the previous prognosis.
The reason is that several power-conducting cables have been sabotaged in copper thefts.
Tonight we discovered more attempted thefts and that prolonged all the measures until Monday, says the Swedish Transport Administration's press chief Bengt Olsson.
It is a matter of extensive thefts, explains Olsson.
It is large areas that it concerns and it affects several tracks, not just the Botniabanan but the Ådalsbanan and so on.
