Sunday's Grand Slam 75 trotting competitions will be held at Umåker outside Umeå after all, and do not need to be moved to Sundsvallsbanan Bergsåker.
The suspicion of infection among the horses, which caused the stables at Umåker to be isolated, appears to have been a false alarm, reports Expressen. In fact, the horses' behavior appears to have been caused by an electrical fault.
By all accounts, the horses' symptoms were due to an electrical fault, not illness. We will confirm this on Tuesday, and the stables are therefore still isolated until we know for sure. We expect to be able to provide a definitive statement later today, Tuesday, Umåker's racetrack manager Emilia Riström tells the newspaper.
