The construction of what the US president has described as “the finest ballroom ever built anywhere in the world” has been marred by several rounds of lawsuits. The appeals court’s decision came late Saturday after the Trump administration appealed a lower court ruling that had ordered a halt to construction - because the project lacks congressional approval.
Construction is now allowed to continue temporarily while the lower court reviews the case further.
Trump demolished the East Wing of the White House last fall to make way for the costly, pillared ballroom, which is intended to be at least as tall as the White House.
