A company operating a waste management facility in Örebro has been fined 75,000 kronor for handling 16 tons of waste without permission, including over three tons of body parts, organs, and blood products, according to DN.

The newspaper refers to a prosecution decision from the National Unit for Environmental and Work Environment Crimes in Jönköping, which states that representatives of the company did not have sufficient control and supervision over the waste, and that the volumes exceeded the permit held by the company, according to the newspaper.

The incorrect handling of the waste occurred in 2023. The company explains the incident with inadequate routines, and further states that it now has the correct permit in place, reports P4 Örebro.
