Cold Front on the Way: "Don't Lose Hope"

Rain, gusts and falling temperatures are expected when a cold front and a low-pressure system move in over the country this week. But summer doesn't have to be over yet, says Emma Härenstam, meteorologist at SMHI.

According to Emma Härenstam, the weather will be best at the beginning of the week, with temperatures between 20 and 24 degrees, and varying cloudiness.

On Wednesday, a cold front will move in over southern Sweden, reaching the entire country on Thursday.

Then, the weather will be unstable throughout the country, and we will also see that it will become more windy.

"Rain or showers"

On Friday, a new low-pressure system will move in from the southwest, with a comprehensive rain area that will first affect southern Sweden, before reaching large parts of the entire country.

Temperature-wise, there are not many places that will reach up to 20 degrees then, says Härenstam.

The low-pressure dominated weather will continue into next week.

It is expected to be more cloudy, with either rain or showers. It may also mean that it will be windy.

No autumn yet

But it's not certain that summer is over yet, Härenstam believes.

One should not lose hope if it's the warm, sunny weather one is after. Low-pressure dominated weather does not mean that it will be 15 degrees and rain all the time, but that it will be varying, she says and continues:

If you have vacation and want to be outdoors, there will be days with summer weather, interspersed with slightly more rainy days. Moreover, we still have large parts of August left, and it can also become warm periods in September.
