This weekend's Swedish premiere in skiing in Gällivare is threatened by extreme cold. If it is colder than minus 17, we will have to cancel, says Mats Eklund, event manager for the premiere, to Expressen.

According to SMHI's forecast, the temperature will fluctuate between -16 and -23 degrees during Friday and Saturday. During Friday's sprint, it never looks like it will be milder than -18 degrees.

The Swedish Ski Association's cold limit for competition is -17 degrees Celsius.

The cold limit that exists is very easy to relate to as an organizer. If it is colder, you should cancel, says Eklund.

Even race director Leif Johansson says that you don't race if it's too cold.

Saturday and Sunday look good, but Friday is in the risk zone, he says.

Jonna Sundling says that "it would be very sad if the first competition was cancelled":

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will be implemented.
