"Early Tuesday morning I gave birth to our son Adam. Everyone is doing well, and words cannot describe my gratitude at being able to give birth in safety and freedom. Our boy was born weighing over four kilograms, a good sign for the election," she wrote in a post.
Liberal Party leader Simona Mohamsson sent her best wishes on Instagram.
"Big congratulations, dear Romina, and a warm welcome, little Adam," she wrote.
Pourmokhtari has been on parental leave for about a month, and the plan is for her to return to work in June. In the meantime, the Minister of Labor and party colleague Johan Britz has stepped in as Minister of Climate and Environment.
