"It has been a fun and intense journey in which I have worked to strengthen the organization, increase revenue and develop Swedish ice hockey, with the Men's World Cup on home soil as an important interim goal. The strategy towards 2030 is clear and the association is strong, with skilled employees who will continue the development," says Christer Plars on the Swedish Ice Hockey Association's website.
The association's board has appointed Tony Wiréhn as acting general secretary. Work has begun to recruit a permanent replacement.
