The message is partly a relief for worried European large companies in the sector, such as Siemens Healthineers and Royal Philips, which have invested a lot in production facilities in China. But both shares are pressed down on the stock exchange despite this after Monday's message.
The message from Beijing comes days before a meeting on trade terms between representatives of the EU and China in Beijing, in front of which, among other things, the EU's customs duties on Chinese electric cars and China's support for Vladimir Putin's Russia have created tensions.
China has also initiated a so-called anti-dumping investigation against European spirits manufacturers and on Friday, new customs duties were introduced on cognac from the EU.
Prior to the meeting, statistics from Chinese customs authorities show that China's trade surplus with the EU has increased to record levels during the year so far.
