The children were kept isolated and were not allowed to go to school or visit the dentist. Now a woman, who was previously acquitted in the district court, is being convicted of ten counts of gross child abuse.

The case became known when three scantily clad girls knocked on the door and sought help at a house in a town in Dalsland in April last year.

During the investigation, it was discovered that a total of eleven children had been kept isolated by their parents, who had moved around the country to escape various decisions regarding the care of the children.

The father of ten of the children has previously been sentenced to prison, while the mother of the eleventh child has been sentenced to probation. The Court of Appeal for Western Sweden has now also sentenced the mother of the ten children, who was acquitted in the district court.

The woman is convicted of ten counts of gross child abuse. The penalty is probation combined with a probation program, and three months in prison.
