The child was offered a place at the school after a long waiting period. But the offer was withdrawn.

The school referred to its economic situation, but according to the DO, this happened after the school received information about the child's neuropsychiatric diagnoses and previous school situation.

"The elementary school should be open to all students who have the right to education. This also applies to the independent elementary school," says Aida Babakirad, lawyer at the DO's legal unit, in a press release.

She emphasizes that it is discriminatory to withdraw an offer of a place due to reasons related to the child's disability, without making an individual assessment and without taking measures for reception in accordance with the Education Act's provisions.
