When Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist is asked in SVT's party leadership hearing whether she would rather go to a snap election than allow a government that includes Left Party leader Nooshi Dadgostar, the answer is yes.
When asked if she is prepared to vote down Magdalena Andersson in four prime ministerial ballots, she says further:
We have a clear no to the Left Party in government, yes, she says.
The Speaker of the Riksdag has four attempts to find a candidate for prime minister who receives sufficient support in the Riksdag. If this fails, a new election must be held within three months.
Instead, Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist hopes for a centre-right government together with the Social Democrats, the Green Party and the Christian Democrats.
When pressed on how it should be done, since KD leader Ebba Busch has said no to such a government, the Centre Party leader responds that Busch has spoken several times about taking responsibility.
I see that she is taking responsibility in a way that is clearly much broader than what she has said before, says Thand Ringqvist.
She also highlights that the KD leader wrote on social media during the day that it is not a given to have SD ministers in a "blue-yellow" government.
I can't interpret it any other way than that something else is happening on the Tidö side. I also see that the Tidö parties are not moving forward with common policies and that they disagree on many issues.
What will happen with the government issue is not so certain, which is very exciting, she says.
