Late on Wednesday, both Pakistan and the Taliban regime in Afghanistan confirmed that a two-day ceasefire would begin.
On Friday afternoon, the declared ceasefire formally ended without comment from either side.
The Taliban claimed that Pakistan had broken the ceasefire, and the representative of the Taliban regime told AFP that they would avenge.
