The Moderate Party member and former Minister for Foreign Affairs Carl Bildt is running in the church election. But it is not primarily to be elected. ”I am on the very last place on the list more to mark my support”, he writes in a text message to TT.

Bildt is running for the Bourgeois Christian Cooperation (BKS), which has its roots in The Moderate Party and the Christian Democrats, which Kyrkans Tidning was the first to report.

But the goal is not to be elected, according to himself. However, it can be thought that Bildt may receive some personal votes and thus be lifted by the church voters from the last place, 48th place, to higher heights.

"I think the church plays an important role in society, and not least, it is important with all the volunteers who engage in its work", he writes.

Bildt is running in Hedvig Eleonora and Oscar's parish in Stockholm.

We asked the question and he said yes. As far as I know, he has once before run in the church election in Hedvig Eleonora, says Anette Lundquist, BKS's first name on the list to Hedvig Eleonora and Oscar's parish, to the newspaper Dagen.

In the church election, as in the election to the municipality, region, and parliament, one can vote for both party and person.

Bildt has previously been both Prime Minister, Foreign Minister, and party leader for The Moderate Party.
