To get rid of geese that were fouling the area, Kalmar Municipality has installed cardboard foxes at several swimming areas. But the desired result has not been achieved.
They quickly got used to those foxes, municipal ecologist Tomas Burén told the radio.
Other municipalities have also experimented with cardboard foxes. Last year P4 Västmanland reported that the foxes that the city of Västerås put up were stolen.
Foxes are also reported to have disappeared in Säffle.
P4 Värmland reported this summer that Karlstad municipality bought foxes for 34,000 SEK and Kil, Säffle and Forshaga jointly bought them for 30,000 SEK.
