Three people were arrested on Wednesday in England and Wales on suspicion of espionage, London police said.
The three are described as political advisers, and one is married to a Member of Parliament.
The MP said they were not involved in their partner's business activities and did not see anything suspicious in their partner's behavior.
The three people who were arrested have been released on bail.
The MP, who is not suspected of any crime, announced that they are leaving their position until "internal investigations are completed."
