The UK and the EU have reached an agreement that the country will rejoin Erasmus Plus in 2027, the UK government and the EU wrote in a joint statement.
"It increases opportunities for young people from all backgrounds, students, education, youth and sports professionals to study and work abroad," a statement from the British government says.
In the first year alone, over 100,000 people in the UK could benefit from the program, according to the government.
In connection with the UK's withdrawal from the EU in 2020, the country left the Erasmus cooperation and started its own exchange programs.
EU Trade Commissioner Maros Sefcovic calls the agreement with the social network X a "big step forward."
