The Brommapojkarna boys will also play women's Swedish football in 2026. 2–0 in the return leg at home against Kif Örebro, third in the elite league, meant 4–0 overall in the qualifiers. This is the third time in four years that BP has qualified. Great relief, says match hero Frida Thörnqvist.

BP went into Sunday's home game with an already tight grip on the Allsvenskan spot after the 2-0 away win on Wednesday. And when Frida Thörnqvist headed in 1-0 in the 55th minute – on a long, sweeping cross from Adelina Engman – the matter was practically settled.

Kif Örebro then had to score three goals to force extra time, but did not even manage to get a reduction.

Instead, Emma Engström took the opportunity to lob in 2-0 from long range in added time when Kif Örebro goalkeeper Julia Langörgen stepped high up in her own half of the field as the guests invested everything forward.

There is only joy now and great relief. I don't think we should have to end up in these qualifying matches. We may have our two worst matches this season, but it's still enough for a win. For me it doesn't really matter that we don't play well, the most important thing was that we won, says 1-0 scorer Frida Thörnqvist to Viaplay.

The qualification for the women's Swedish Championship was introduced in 2022, in connection with the expansion of the top league from 12 to 14 teams. For BP, the qualification game has become a bit of an annual tradition, this is the third time in four years that the Stockholm club has been left behind after being forced to qualify.
