Erik Nises, Social Democratic municipal councillor, tells P4 Dalarna that the booking of Yasin does not align with the municipality's values.

Yasin, who is one of Sweden's most popular rappers, has previously been sentenced to prison for preparation for kidnapping and for gross weapons offences. This summer, he is booked for his first live performances in nine years, in addition to Borlänge, also in Kristianstad and Umeå.

Last week, however, Umeå municipality announced that, just like Borlänge is doing now, they will stop sponsoring Brännbollsyran due to Yasin being booked for the festival.

The festival management for Alive in Borlänge, on the other hand, believes that Yasin has served his sentence.

The festival will still be held on the municipality's land, and the municipality will continue to contribute with some personnel.

Alive takes place on July 3-5 and, in addition to Yasin, others such as Europe, In Flames, Nause and Maja Ivarsson are booked.
