Hand Grenade Found at Västerås Playground Disarmed Safely

National bomb squad responded on Sunday to a playground in Västerås where a hand grenade was found. At nine o'clock in the evening, the police announced that the grenade had been disarmed, writes VLT.

The alarm about a suspected dangerous object came in at 15.30 on Sunday afternoon. Several police patrols rushed to the scene, residents in the vicinity were evacuated and the National Bomb Protection was called in.

The object was assessed as live and some form of hand grenade, according to the police.

At nine o'clock the grenade was disarmed and the blockades were lifted.

A report of general dangerous destruction and crime against the law on flammable and explosive goods has been established.
