Nathalie Björn won the domestic treble in England with the big club Chelsea this spring. Now she and Daniel Svensson have been awarded the Defender of the Year award, the Swedish Football Association announces.

"It's a fantastic award to win and I'm very happy to receive it. I've had a good year and I want to continue to develop, but receiving the award as the defender of the year shows that I've had a very good year," said Björn, who wins the award for the second year in a row, in a statement.

Daniel Svensson, starting player for both German Borussia Dortmund and the national team:

"It means an incredible amount of time, of course. It's a testament to the fact that you've performed well during the year and that hard work pays off. I'm proud and grateful for the trust I've received from both the club and national teams," he says.
