After a goalless first period, Björklöven took the lead at home against Östersund in the second period. The away team equalized through Daniel Öhrn ten minutes later, and despite intense pressure from Björklöven at times, the match looked set to go to overtime.
But with 19:57 on the clock in the third period, Oscar Tellström scored the decisive goal. Björklöven thus tops the series with 14 points after five wins in five rounds, including one after penalties.
BIK Karlskoga is hot on their heels with the same number of points, having thrashed Nybro 5–1 at home on Wednesday. The clubs meet in Umeå on Friday.
Södertälje and Kalmar also won their matches against Almtuna and Västerås, and are thus closing in on the top. Djurgården seemed set to join them, but lost the lead against Vimmerby with 20 seconds left and lost on penalties.
For Almtuna and Tingsryd, the downward trend continues. Both clubs still have no points on the board.
