The Trumps will welcome the royals to the White House shortly after 10 p.m. local time in Sweden on Monday. Immediately afterward, they will drink tea and look at the beehives.
The visit comes just days after the attack on a gala dinner attended by the presidential couple, and at a time of increasing transatlantic tensions: Trump has criticized Britain's refusal to participate in a war with Iran, threatened to tear up the trade agreement between the two countries and hinted that Britain's rights to the Falkland Islands could be reassessed.
King Charles is known as an enthusiastic beekeeper who has several hives at his country estate, Highgrove House.
