Trump describes the meeting at the White House as "very good."
"Nothing definitive was decided beyond my insistence that negotiations with Iran continue to see if an agreement can be completed," the president adds in a post on Truth Social.
Netanyahu, in turn, "insisted on Israel's need for security" in connection with the meeting and said they agreed to remain in contact, according to a statement from the Israeli Prime Minister's Office.
Netanyahu's visit comes after the US and Iran resumed indirect negotiations over the Iranian nuclear energy program.
The previous round of negotiations collapsed after Israel's attack on Iran this summer.
Before the meeting at the White House, Netanyahu met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and then officially signed his entry into Trump's so-called peace council, The Times of Israel reports.
