A major fire that has ravaged a natural area in eastern Belgium is continuing towards the border with Germany, AFP reports.
Late Sunday evening, smaller parts of the German border town of Monschau - with about 12,000 residents - began to be evacuated, according to local authorities.
The fire has so far destroyed approximately 3,000 hectares.
