"It feels like a sick joke. I've been told that a bear ate my foal. It sounds like some strange joke," owner Vilma Gerkliv told the radio.
The foal was born prematurely, probably after the mother was scared by the bear, according to the owners. It was then eaten in pieces and the remains of the foal were found in the pasture on Easter Sunday.
The Västerbotten County Administrative Board has been on site and has assessed that it was a bear attack.
