In 1932, Real Madrid and Barcelona played out a 2-2 draw in El Clásico, enough for Madrid to secure their first league title.
But now - 94 years later - Barça has got its revenge.
Marcus Rashford made it 1-0 from a free kick after just nine minutes. Shortly afterwards, Ferran Torres scored the final goal of the match after a footballing treat.
"We have a very young team but with a lot of talent. Big moments await," said team captain Ronald Araújo in an interview on the pitch.
Madrid came into the match after a turbulent week, when Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni got into a scuffle. The former hit his head and missed the match, while the latter started.
For Barcelona, it was a different kind of turmoil. Coach Hansi Flick's father passed away shortly before the match, something that left its mark on the 61-year-old.
"It's a night I'll never forget. It was a tough night, my dad died, but here the team was fantastic," said Flick.
Midfield star Pedri added:
"We wanted to do it for Flick; the victory is dedicated to his father in heaven. Everything was for him," he said, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Barcelona's league title was secured as the team is now an unassailable 14 points ahead of Madrid with three rounds left to play.
With the victory, Barça's Roony Bardghji is only the fifth Swede to win the top-flight title. He sat on the bench the entire match.
