"Avicii is not just one of our time's greatest music creators, he is also a unique and acclaimed symbol for Sweden. Avicii's music has a power and pulse that goes straight into the heart and we know that his music is already highly appreciated by both hockey players and fans", says Tony Wiréhn, Secretary General and CEO of the Ice Hockey World Championship in a press release.
Tim "Avicii" Bergling passed away in 2018, 28 years old. In May 2021, the Globe – as it is often referred to in everyday language – officially changed its name to Avicii Arena.
The Ice Hockey World Championship, which is also decided in Herning, Denmark, begins on May 9 and the final in Stockholm takes place on May 25.
