The emergency services received the alarm just before 1 p.m. on Wednesday. At that time, it was feared that several people were trapped under the snow.
After about 45 minutes, mountain rescuers were on site, said Engla Hansson, alarm and control operator at the rescue service.
It appears that at least five people have been found. Right now we are working to ensure that there are no more people left under the snow.
The major rescue operation that has been launched, with helicopters, road ambulances, emergency services and mountain rescue, continues. However, there is no indication that anyone is still under the snow, according to the police.
The extent of the injuries of those found is unclear; according to the police, one person needs to be taken to hospital by a civilian helicopter.
However, the people found appear to have been accounted for, according to Engla Hansson.
The avalanche was reported to have been 50 meters long, according to NSD.
