Taiwanese authorities have raided the home of a former senior executive at semiconductor giant TSMC, accusing him of leaking trade secrets to Intel.

It was earlier this fall that Lo Wei-Jen, who had recently left his job in TSMC's absolute top echelon, moved to the American Intel.

The transition has not gone down well with TSMC, which has chosen to sue Lo over allegations that he "very likely" shared confidential information with his new employer.

Taiwanese authorities have now raided two of Lo's homes, after launching an investigation into him. Among other things, computers and USB sticks were seized during the searches, according to a statement.

Intel has dismissed the allegations against Lo Wei-Jen, who now holds a top position in the company.

Taiwan-based TSMC is one of the world's leading chip manufacturers and is considered to have a central role in AI development, with customers such as Nvidia and Apple.
