President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemns Monday's attacks.
"Every Russian act of terrorism leads to losses that could have been avoided if the pressure on Russia had ultimately been total," he writes in a post on X.
"Pressure against everything that finances and produces Russia's terror weapons, and against everyone who uses them. The world must understand that the terrorists will continue if they are not stopped here, in Ukraine," he continues.
Happened during the day
The latest attacks took place during the day, in an increasingly common pattern in which Russia attacks Ukrainian cities more or less around the clock.
Four people were killed and eight injured in Russian drone strikes on the Kyiv area. The Academy of Sciences building, a pharmaceutical company and gas stations in the capital were among the targets.
Images show fires and widespread destruction in central Kyiv. People could be seen clinging to windows as smoke billowed from the Academy of Sciences building.
Three people were killed when a Russian drone struck an office complex in the eastern city of Dnipro. At least 12 people were injured. Russian attacks have also hit the major city of Kharkiv, where more than 40 people were injured when an apartment building was hit, and Chernihiv.
Near Poland
A Russian jet-powered drone was used in an attack on the village of Starovoytove in western Ukraine, near the border with Poland. There are no reports of casualties.
Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz addressed the incident on X.
"There was no violation of Polish airspace. Our air defense systems and aircraft were ready to intervene," he writes.
The Russian Defense Ministry says the attacks targeted gas stations, a postal service and data centers.
